Your joy matters.

“Loving friendships provide us with a space to experience the joy of community in a relationship where we learn to process all our issues, to cope with differences and conflict while staying connected.”

—bell hooks

We can cultivate our courage together, in community.

It takes courage to show up and allow other people to see us as we are.

That choice requires vulnerability. We’re usually doing everything we can to not share our imperfections with others.

But when women come together, we create connections. We share our stories. And we begin to become friends.

For me, this is the most powerful way to learn — connection, courage, and conversations.

Come as you are.

I offer three joyful workshops.

Feed yourself with joy to avoid burnout.

You get so much done.

You’re the one holding up your team at work and your family. You’re trying to keep track of meal plans, the kids’ sport schedules, and fit in some time for a workout once in a while.

But you have another list inside your head, the one you don’t share. It’s the list you consult the most often. It’s called ALL THE THINGS I’VE DONE BADLY AND WHY IT’S MY FAULT.

Returning to that list, adding new things every day, is why you’re feeling exhausted and hassled, frazzled and teetering right on the edge of burnout. In fact, you know you’re burned out — your body is telling you — but you don’t feel like you have time to be in burnout.

The answer? Make a plan for more joy in your life.

If you know how to create structure, routine, and a plan, then you can schedule your own joy into your days. This will give you more ease.

I can show you how.

Reinvent Your Story

Do you know the story of your business? Have you shared with your potential customers why you do what you do?

Is your work a bold representation of your story?

Are you in a transition time — no longer enjoying your job but feeling frightened by the unknown — and you’re not sure what your story has become?

Are you overwhelmed by a recent revelation in your life — such as a midlife ADHD diagnosis or discovering that you have celiac and must change the way you live —that’s requiring you to look at your life anew?

I can guide you through the process of understanding your story.

15 minutes of writing a day can change your story.

You have a story.

It’s a glimpse from long ago, a few moments in time. And yet, you can’t forget it.

That boy in the 5th grade who called you fat.

Listening to your mother cry after your father had left the room.

Your uncle passed out underneath the Christmas tree.

Or, that story you’ve never told anyone before.

That story might haunt you. It set you on a path of never feeling good enough. And you believe that story still.

We all do, for decades.

But that doesn’t have to be your story anymore.

Devoting 15 minutes a day to writing about your story, every day, can help you grow curious and begin to shift your perspective.

It’s time to rewrite that story.

Testimonials for my work.

“The results that culminated from this workshop have been profound. Prioritizing joy feels amazing. I find myself integrating little bits of joy throughout the day. Thank you for being your whole self and dedicated to helping people find and be their whole, messy, beautiful, joyful selves. I am grateful for your laughter, Shauna, your realness and the whole beautiful self that you are sharing with your community.”

JENNIFER J.

“The world needs Shauna’s work! This is not hasty positivity nor artificial optimism. This is Shauna, meeting us where we are with genuine compassion; guiding us back to our own wisdom; walking alongside us as we examine what might be blocking the brilliant parts of life. We may not always be able to control what happens, but with practice we can know and experience a more constant joy. Shauna’s work has changed my life, it will change yours too.”

BRIGETTE R.

Shauna knows how to find the joys in life, no doubt. But she doesn’t gloss over the hard parts either, providing researched and experienced support, plus practical suggestions for ways to find the gratitude and joy that are too often elusive in our lives. Shauna is one of us. She reminds us to take the best care of our humans selves as possible, despite what life’s traumas have been handed us.

MARTHA K.

Sure, you could muddle through and keep living a story that has never really worked that well for you. You could go it alone.

Or, you could work with me to get curious about your own story. And by asking those questions, you could see your life anew.

You could create a life filled with curiosity and joy.
